The two local authors of the long novel The Children on Mountains have much practical basis since they make the contents and characters closer to the authenticity of rural life through their rich life experience. Such features as the call for the Chinese traditional ethnic order, moral qualities and modal mode embodied in this long novel, and the prose-like nar- ration and somewhat poetic written style of this novel-all these elements contribute to accounting for the recall for our Chinese traditional cultural spirit and for the follow-up of Chinese traditional aesthetic spirits. The relatively old-fashioned and monotonous narrative skills and writing styles of this novel leaves an open entrance to understanding and paying attention to local writers and writings in Wulanchabu for us like ＂a fresh and gentle breeze from a large mountain.
