| Abstract: | The Annotations to the Five Classicsis a leading work in the history of the study of the Confucian classics. It contains not only profound ideas about philosophy, history, and politics, but brilliant ideas about literature. Among them are expositions about poetry proper, the mergence of feelings and ideal and the relationship between poetry and music, which drew on classic and history books, and are full of evidence both from ancient times and this day. It is of important significance and great value to the study of the poetics of the Tang dynasty and even of China. |
