Interpreting Metaphors Used in Meng Haoran’s Dawn in Spring

There used to be many misinterpretations of Meng Haoran’s poem Dawn in Spring,for example,the word Spring was literally understood as the natural season Spring,and a singing bird turned out to a bird’s singing etc.What’s more,in terms of its theme,neither opinion of love for spring and pity for spring was plausible.This paper reviews the poet’s life history and argues that underlain by his own experience,the poem reflects his views of life.
