| Abstract: | The 20th century witnesses phonetic changes in Chengdu dialect of three generations of the aged, the middle aged and the adolescent. An induction and analysis of this phonetic phenomenon reveals the trend, law and features of phonetic changes in Chengdu dialect under the influence of standard Chinese and causes us to rethink the historical comparative method of linguistics. |
