| Abstract: | The author of this paper separates the development of the supplement of the Chinese newspaper into four historical phases: its emergence at the end of the 19 th century, the reform of the supplement during the May 4 th Movement period, the changes around the foundation of the PRC and the renovation in 1990s. This paper tries to reveal the features of the supplements in different phases. |
