ECIP与CNMARC两种机读格式的比较研究

A Comparative Research on ECIP and CNMARC Machine-Reading Models

With an increased application of CNMARC, its troublesome, repetitious, lengthy, and illusive shortcomings are becoming more and more grave. ECIP emerges to make up for those defects CNMARC possesses. The up-dated ECIP contains only 46 fields, and 153 sub-fields. What is more important is that ECIP may help publishers and librarians with less expensive and standard-formatted catalogs. Likewise, it enables publishers and librarians to get access to management, literature retrieval by means of the uniform cataloging. The paper particularly discusses the principles and significance of ECIP planning, in addition to a comparative analysis of the scan-reading formats of CNMARC and ECIP.
