隐喻概念"承诺是债"与词汇衔接

语篇是功能语言学研究的一个主要内容,词汇衔接是语篇研究的一个重要组成部分,主要通过同义、反义、上下义、搭配等手段实现。以往的研究主要集中在同一认知域内词汇成分间的衔接关系上,不涉及不同认知域内词汇成分的衔接问题及衔接机制的探讨。认知语言学认为,人的思维方式从本质上说是隐喻性的,人们对事物的认识依赖于客观的经验,并将源域概念映射到目标域概念,从而实现对抽象事物的认知和理解。将隐喻引入衔接理论,可以解释词汇衔接问题,尤其适用于解释不同认知域内词汇的衔接及工作机制。这一方面是对衔接理论的发展和完善,另一方面也是对隐喻理论在实用性方面的检验。

Metaphorical concept and Lexical Cohesion

Functional grammar pays much attention to discourse analysis,among which lexical cohesion plays an important role.Researches concerned mainly focused on the relations between the two items within the same domain,such as synonymy,antonym,hyponymy,and collocation,while paying little attention to the lexical cohesion in larger text,where there are more than two items lying in different domains.The cognitive-oriented linguistics takes the way of human's thinking as metaphorical.It means that metaphor is empirical.It is a partial mapping from the source domain to the target domain,by which,the concept in the target domain can be cognized and understood.Summing up,the introduction of metaphorical concept to the cohesion theory can reinforce the interpretation of the phenomena and the mechanism of lexical cohesion in different domains occurring in larger text.
