摘 要: | INTRODUCTION Silicon (Si), the element in many plant biolo-gists’ minds, as we come into an age of research ‘insilico’, still is an enigma when it comes to its nutri-tional role in the higher land plants (Raven, 2003).The element occurs in the soil solution at 0.1~0.6mol/m3 as Si(OH)4 (two orders of magnitude higherthan the macronutrient phosphorus (H 2 PO ?4 /HPO 24? ))(Epstein, 1999).
