摘    要:师生言语互动是大学英语课堂学习过程的重要组成部分。实现师生间有效的言语交流则要保持师生和谐关系和友好合作的课堂气氛。维护师生双方的面子是建立这种关系必不可少的前提,而模糊语的使用不失为保全面子的有利武器。大学英语课堂上教师有责任也有必要兼顾自己和学生的面子,恰当使用模糊语,在讲解、提问、评价、布置任务等各个教学环节,充分利用模糊语形式上模糊的优势实现更为准确、严谨、客观的言语表达,为自己树立在学生心目中的良好形象,也让学生更愿意与教师合作互动,从而提高教学效果。

Vagueness in Teacher Talk in College English Class under the Influence of FST

Abstract:Teacher-student verbal interaction is an important part of the learning process in college English class.Maintaining the harmonious teacher-student relationship and cooperative classroom atmosphere is necessary for the effective verbal interaction.Saving both teacher and students'faces is a prerequisite for establishing this harmonious relationship.The usage of vague language is a powerful weapon for face-saving.In college English class,teachers have the responsibility to consider both their own and the students'faces and properly apply vague language to every teaching parts,such as explaining,asking questions,evaluating,assigning tasks and so on.Teachers should take advantage of the vagueness to express more accurately,more cautiously and more objectively in order to establish a good image in the minds of students,and make students be willing to cooperate with teachers.By doing so can teaching effects be improved.
