| Abstract: | With an analysis of theories relevant to academic study and characteristics of college education, this paper offers four recommendations for strengthening college students' initiative for academic study. They are 1) paying due attention to students' emotions, 2) setting up the right motive for study, 3) formulating a proper goal for study, and 4) providing timely and effective guidance. |
