Intercultural Nonverbal Communication and Foreign Language Teaching

Nonverbal communication, which is often consciously or unconsciously neglected in foreign language teaching, is an inseparable part in human communication process. This paper will give a brief account of nonverbal communication and an analysis of the significance in improving the students' nonverbal communicative ability in FLT. It will also provide some workable suggestions to the students on enriching their cultural knowledge of nonverbal communication so as to improve their nonverbal communicative competence in ELT.
