胡燏棻与甲午新军计划探微

胡燏棻是晚清史上一位次重要级人物。甲午战争爆发后，胡留于京津地区督办粮台军需，又奉旨协助洋员汉纳根编练新军。在新军计划的过程中，胡燏棻与汉纳根产生了争论。随后，胡燏棻上书朝廷，晓陈其利害关系。最终，朝廷放弃汉纳根的练兵计划，由胡燏棻另练一支新军，而此新军正是后来北洋新军的前身。

A RESEARCH OF HU YU-FEN AND THE NEW ARMY IN 1894

Hu Yu-Fen was a second most important people in the history of the late Qing Dynasty. After the first Sino-Japanese War in 1894 broke out, Hu acted as a supervisor to manage food and military material in the Beijing-Tianjin region, and assisted the foreigner named Von Hanneken to train army under orders. During the process of making plan, Hu generated controversy with Hanneken. Subsequently, Hu wrote a letter to the court and made the advantages and disadvantages clear. Ul-timately, the Court abandoned Hanneken’s training program replaced by a new army trained by Hu Yu-Fen which is also the predecessor of the Northern New Army.
