Abstract: | Given the increasing globalization of healthcare services, the need to develop standards for international credentialing has arisen and has become an increasingly topical subject. A case example is presented of an effort under way, the so-called "Millennium Intent", to create an agreement between non-governmental national certification agencies in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States for the mutual recognition of the professional education and the credentials of speech/language pathologists. The insights gained and the principles developed have applicability in other healthcare fields. |
