| 摘 要： | 本文评论的是英国现实主义文学家哈代的代表作之一《卡斯特桥市长》中的主人公亨查德悲惨的一生。通过对其小说中的人物剖析，以及对哈代作品的整体评述，揭露出在资本主义物质文明高度发达的同时，隐藏着道德上的黑暗面，特别是人物的伪善的性格特征。

| Abstract: | This paper makes some comments on the miserable life of the hero Hende in The Mayor of CasterBridge,one of British realistic writer Hardy's masterpieces.Through the analysis of characters in the story and overall comment on Hardy's works,it discloses the canceled moral darkness in the advanced capitalist society,especially the sincerity personality characteristics of the characters. |
