作为一个重要的语言现象,间接言语行为引起了语言学家的普遍关注,但传统的理论研究却没能对其做一个令人满意的解释.最近,Thornburg和Panther从认知角度对间接言语行为进行研究并提出了转喻解释理论,从而揭示了间接言语行为的转喻本质.但此理论忽视了对一些必要的语用参数的考虑,从而无法对间接言语行为作全面的解释.因此需要对此转喻解释做进一步的改进.

On the Metonymic Interpretation of Indirect Speech Acts

As an important language phenomenon, indirect speech act has attracted a great deal of attention. Traditional theoretic study fails to provide a satisfactory interpretation of indirect speech act. More recently, Thornburg and Panther study this language phenomenon from the perspective of cognition and propose their metonymic interpreting theory which reveals the metonymic nature of indirect speech acts. However, this theory fails to take some indispensable pragmatic parameters into consideration, so it is not capable of providing a full interpretation. The theory needs to be improved.
