| Institution: | Director of the Research and Information Department of the Education Commission of the States in Denver. With the exception of 1 year as Assistant Professor of Education at Drake University in Iowa, he has spent his professional career in Colorado. He has been a classroom teacher, elementary school principal, and director of instruction in a local school district. He spent 5 years in the Colorado Department of Education where he was Director of Research and Development before joining ECS. Dr. Vlaanderen is a member of NEA, AERA, the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, the National Organization on Legal Problems of Education, and the World Future Society. He is the author of numerous articles. |
