Planning Educational Research |

Abstract: | AbstractIn planning a research study, investigators are frequently uncertain regarding the minimal number of subjects needed to adequately test a hypothesis of interest. The present paper discusses the sample size problem and four factors which affect its solution: significance level, statistical power, analysis procedure, and effect size. The interrelationship between these factors is discussed and demonstrated by calculating minimal sample size requirements for a variety of research conditions. |
