A Decade of Reading Research in Europe, 1959-1969: A Review

Abstract

In Many European countries empirical research within the field of reading is still of rather modest proportions, partly because of a limited availability of acceptable measuring instruments. The number of empirical reading research studies has, however, grown at a considerable rate during the past 10 years, especially in western and northern parts of Europe. This is a selective summary and review of such studies.
