Changing Teacher Behavior Through Self Instruction and Supervised Micro Teaching in a Competency Based Program |
| |
Abstract: | AbstractStudents in Professional Education Sequence at Illinois State University were randomly assigned to two treatment groups. In a micro-teaching experience, students using self-instructional material with formal supervision by trained supervisors were compared with those who were exposed to self-instructional materials without formal supervision. Results indicate that there are no differences between supervised and unsupervised micro-teaching when used in conjunction with self-instructional materials to develop specified teaching skills. |
