Specific Points of Attack in Curriculum and Course Revision |
| |
Abstract: | AbstractMore efficient education and better education are simultaneously attainable by curriculum modifications which increase the credit hour productivity of teachers, decrease the average number of courses carried by students, and decrease the number of contact hours required for attainment of course objectives. Excessive course offerings, small credit packages, an unreasonable percentage of small course enrollments, overlap and duplication of course content, and needlessly heavy contact hour requirements represent the major factors which require attention. Faculty interests, lethargy, and outright resistance require sustained pressure if constructive change involving improvement in quality and efficiency is to be attained. |
