The Effect of Adverbial Subordinate Clause Position on Reading Comprehension
Abstract:Abstract

This study investigated the relationship that exists between syntax and reading comprehension. To measure this relationship, data were collected from ninth grade students by administering three tests to them: a cloze test, a chunk test, and a standardized reading test. Analysis of the results indicated that adverbial clause position does not appear to affect the reading comprehension of ninth grade students.
