A Significant Role of Chunks in English Acquisition among Children Beginners

Chunks are very common in English,which play a significant role in the acquisition among children beginners.Based on theories of second language acquisition,with the help of cognitive psychology,it is obvious that young children have advantages in imitation,and memory while studying languages.It is known that chunks are easy to imitate and memorize.Therefore,early chunk learning helps to develop communicative abilities.Chunking as a whole,without considering grammar rules,enables children to focus on language at text level.Then a question remains as to what kinds of chunks are suitable for children to learn English at beginning level?By observing children,we find that simple structures in dialogues with a certain variety of semantically strong words are in children's favor.
