香港车牌识别系统

摘    要:提出了一个香港车牌识别系统。针对香港车牌的特点,先对车牌图像进行彩色二值化、不可能字符区域的去除、水平梯度统计、基元扫描后得到车牌的大致区域,然后对大致车牌区域进行精确搜索,最后获取车牌字符,送交到后端的字符识别模块进行识别。通过大量图片的测试和实际的应用表明,本系统有着93%以上的识别正确率。

Abstract:A Hong Kong license plate recognition system is proposed.Hong Kong license plate can be divided into two types:double-line and single-line.Every plate is included of two letters and three digitals or four digitals.Plates hung in front of cars are white-base and black-character.To this characteristic of Hong Kong plate,first color-binarize the plate image,then remove the impossible character regions,calculate horizontal gradients,scan the basic cells.After foregoing operations,the rough regions of plate is obtained.Then search the accurate plate location in those regions.Finally,get the characters from the plate location,and send them to back-end character recognition module.The experiments and practical usage show,the system has 93% correct recognition rate.
