| 摘 要： | 新宁铁路是一条在华侨陈宜禧倡议和经办下,依靠广大华侨和当地乡绅力量建设而成的民办铁路。在资金筹集及修建过程中,陈宜禧面临难得的机遇,同时也遭遇极大困难。铁路通车运营后,沿线社会经济发展出现明显变化。深入探讨新宁铁路,籍此揭示区域近代化的艰难曲折及铁路交通对于经济社会的深远影响。

| Abstract: | Sunning Railway is a private railway constructed under the initiative and management of the overseas Chinese Chen Yixi,relying on the power of the majority of overseas Chinese and the local squire.In the process of fund raising and construction,Chen Yixi faced rare opportunities,but also encountered numerous difficulties.After the opening of the railway operations,significant changes took place in social and economic development along the route.The in-depth study of Sunning Railway will reveal the arduous regional modernization and the far-reaching impact to economics and society brought by the rail traffic. |
