摘    要:李宝嘉主编的《游戏报》是一份以"游戏"为定位的报纸,追求娱乐性,开创了上海滩的"小报"时代。借用报纸这一现代媒介的独特优势,《游戏报》开展了中国现代最早的"选美"活动,然而,主编李宝嘉却极力声称此种娱乐风格旨在"觉世"。这种看似自相矛盾的现象,其实是晚清报纸商业化运营的一个缩影。

Abstract:Game Gazette sponsored by Li Baojia is game-oriented and striving for entertainment,open the era of tabloid in Shanghai.By way of the modern media,Game Gazette carried out the first Beauty Competition in China.While Li Baojia protested that the entertainment orientation was to waken the world.This contradiction is an epitome of news papers’ commercialization in the late Qing Dynasty.
