The Cultivating of Cultural Consciousness in Foreign Language Teaching

This article discusses the importance of cultivating cultural consciousness by analyzing how cultural consciousness affects language teaching and learning. The author thinks that traditional English teaching methods pay too much attention on the learning and using of the language. Therefore, students have difficulties in communication because of lack of the cultural consciousness. The cultivation of cross - cultural ability is a goal of the foreign language teaching, the demand of social development, also the guarantee of training high quality talent with cultural ability.
