| Abstract: | This paper clarifies the principle of MBBR techniques and its characteristics different from other bio-film reactors.It introduces the texture,size,shape,specific gravity,quantity and effective specific surface area of the filling materials in the MBBR and discusses effects of various factors on the performance of the MBBR,such as the types and modes of stirring,organic loadings,hydraulic retention time etc.It gives a review of the present applications of the single MBBR process and processes combined with activated sludge or with others in the wastewater treatment.It also points out the future development and trend of application of the technique. |
