Research on Lin Feng-mian's Art Theory

Lin Feng-mian is an outstanding artist and education is t of art in 19th century. Between 1920s and 1930s he achieved great ach ievements in arti stic theory research which consists of the research on artistic features and pri mitive art, a comparative study between chinese art and western art, and discu ssions of art's socialized problems.This paper thinks that people should not only study Lin Feng-mians tremendous achievements in the creation of paintin g , but also summarize his comtributions to the artistic theory so as to has a com prehensive understan ding of Lin Feng-mian.
