时代的呼唤作家的使命

在当今文坛，一些作家受到经济利益驱动，搜奇猎异、虚妄杜撰，甚至以色情渲染为创作手段，丢弃了作家再现生活指导生活崇高的使命。谈歌、何申、关仁山、张平为代表的一批中青年作家，敢于直面社会矛盾，关注民众生活，以时代呼唤为题材选择，弘扬了现实主义创作精神，把现实主义推向新的高度。为时代、为人民创造出更多更好的精神食粮，既是时代的热切呼唤，也是作家崇高的使命

THE CALL OF THE AGE , THE MISSION OF WRITERS

In the literary world of today some writers stimulated by finacial benefit have been indulging in hunting for fantastic stories,fabricating lies and falsehood, and even have gone so far as to play up sex, thus abandoning the lofty mission of writers -- to reproduce life and guide life. But there have emerged a number of young and middle aged writers with Tan Ge, He Shen,Guan Renshan and Zhang Ping as their representatives who are bold enough to directly face social contradictions, concern with the life of the masses, take the requirements of the age as their subject matter,and therefore have carried on the realistic spirit of creation, pushing forward realism to a new height. To produce more and better nourishment for the mind for the age and the people is the eager call of the age and a lofty mission of writers.
