On Translation of Foreign Publicity of Tourism Material in Western Fujian

In view of the strong informative and vocative function of foreign publicity of tourism material, the translator should take the intended purpose and function of the target language as the basic criteria in order to take appropriate translation strategies according to functional translation theory. The thesis starts from the basic principles of functional translation theory and discusses the effective methods to be employed in translating of foreign publicity of tourism material in Western Fujian so as to achieve adequate understanding among the English readers and reach the purpose of publicizing the unique tourism resources in Western Fujian as well as attracting foreign tourists to increase the economic benefit.
