This paper points out that there is a strong correlation between four core skills needed by college students and employees and then the author makes a detailed exploration into the similarities between four core skills expected in college learning and corporate work settings.By making an exploration,the author makes it clear that college students can be motivated to be active learners and are able to acquire four valu- able core skills or transferable competencies,the same skills needed in business world through the natural course of college learning,if made aware of the direct correlation and similarities between college learning and corporate work settings.
