Application of Grice's Coopertive Principle in Intercultural Communication and Its Cultural Reflection

As a conversational rule, cooperative principle possesses certain univerality. However, the interpretation and application of it may largely depend on different cultural backgrounds. This article is tentative to probe into some disparities between western and eastern cultures from the perspective of cooperative principle to try to avoid communicative failures in intercultural communication.
