| Abstract: | As the leader of the circles of poets in the reign of Qianlong,YUAN Mei did everything he could to guide and help young scholars and talents. Among them were those who had similar ideas and and poetic concept to his, such as HUANG Jing-ren, his poetry followers HE Shi-yong and SUN Yuan-xiang, but also those who were quite different from him in their ideas and poetic concept, such as YAO Nai, of whom WAN Mei became a great friend, an indication of his broad-mindedness. |
