The Structures of Professional Jargons Used by Physiognomists and Their Lives on the Border of Chun'an and Huizhou District in Late Qing Dynasty

An Abstract of the Spare Professional Jargons at All Corners of the Country,a hand-copied book,expressed that the structures of words and phrases of professional jargons used by physiognomists on the border of Huizhou and Chun'an district mainly consisted of word building of pronunciation,characters, rhetoric and syntax.They had painstaking division of jobs.The reason why they chose their jobs and their sphere of activities were deeply affected by the social surroundings of their area.In order to improve their living surroundings,physiognomists used professional jargons which showed their mode of thinking and psychological features as well as the fact that borderli ne culture catered to the main stream of culture and imitated it.
