| Abstract: | Basing on the characteristics of higher vocational education in the 21st century,the paper analyzes the problems existing in the present vocational English teaching materials, and points out theguiding principles of vocational English course construction; basic and scientific knowledge should gohand in hand at the preliminary stage; expertise and first-hand practice be emphasized at the advancedstage, thus making teaching materials profession and practical. In the final part of the paper,some helpful instructions are given. |
