Along with social progress,the library functions are in constant evolution.From the perspective of the American library practice,the library functions are constantly expanding in the direction of knowledge exchanging and knowledge services.Library innovation is in the process of inheritance.Libraries should keen to capture user requirements,guide demands,remain highly sensitive for novelty and curiosity,and have a positive attitude to participate.Service innovation must be forward-looking and down to earth.Service innovation must meet customer needs.With the transformation of the library functions,the role of librarians is changing too.
