| Abstract: | English idioms are precious jewels in treasure house of English, which originated from all aspects of social life and have come to take shape after thousands of years of repeated use. English idioms are brief in form, highly expressive and culturally suggestive. Therefore, a good command of such idioms will help deepen our understanding of English history, geography, customs and the people's modes of thinking, and improve our intercultural qualities and communicative capabilities. |
