冯玉祥在湘西的政绩

在督陕和督豫之前,冯玉祥曾任湘西镇守使,在地方建设上颇有建树,政绩斐然。严明军纪,严禁扰民,大力提倡各类教育,尤其注重社会教育和通俗教育,整顿金融,严禁黄赌毒,加强市政建设,修桥筑路,植树造林,请免田赋,赈灾济民。

Before managing Shanxi province and Henan Province,Feng Yu-xiang had once been appointed to be the military and administrative senior official of western Hunan province.He was fruitful in local construction,and the achievements in his official career were marked.He strengthened the military discipline and forbade disturbing citizens.He vigorously advocated each kind of education,especially payed attention to social education and popular education.He reorganized the finance,forbaded the pornography,gambling and drugs,strengthened the urban construction,built bridges and roads and planted trees.Moreover,he asked the government for exempting the land tax in stricken areas and relieved disaster to aid the people .
