As a highly penetrating religion,Catholicism has always been seeking to spread itself to China.During its missioning process in Yunnan,Zhao Tong used to be a place of irreplaceable historic importance.Before the Qing Dynasty,the historic document on Catholic missioning in Yunnan is quite rare.But since the late Qing Dynasty and in the aftermath of the Opium War,the new policy adopted by the Qing government promoted the spread of Catholicism.And the re-arrangement and review of the existing documents could help us find out the proof and origin of the Catholic missioning in Zhao Tong.
