近代西方侨民来华原因剖析

近代外国侨民在第一次鸦片战争后大量涌入中国。侨民数量的变化与当时的国际国内形势密切相关。在经济方面,侨民来华既受个人经济动机推动,也是资本主义向全球扩张与西方工业化国家对中国等传统封建国家实行政治经济侵略从而建立世界市场的结果。在非经济方面,他们来华受到当时西方社会、思想、宗教及个人等多种因素的影响。由于来华的动机不同,他们在中国的近代化过程中发挥了不同的作用。

The Analysis of the Motives of the Modern Western Residents Coming to China

The western residents swarmed into China after the first Opium War.The quantity of them had great correlation with the external and internal situations.In the economic aspect,the aliens coming to China,although having their personal economic motive,is the result of the capitalism's global expansion and the developed countries' political and economic aggression on China thereby establishing a world market.In the non-economic aspects,the western residents were also under the influence of western social,ideological,religious and individual factors.Because of their different motives,they have played different roles in China's process of modernization.
