| 摘 要： | 在不同的文化背景下,沉默所表达的意义有时具有共性,有时也会截然迥异,甚至造成许多困惑及误解。以陈国明所著《跨文化交际学》中所阐释的非语言交际及文化为理论框架,探讨沉默行为在中西方不同文化视角下的对比意义、产生原因及其重要作用,旨在通过对沉默意义的分析,揭示跨文化交际视角下非语言交际的重要性。

| Abstract: | Meanings of silence differ a lot according to different cultural backgrounds, and may lead to misunderstanding among different people. Based on the theories about non-verbal communication explained by Chen Guoming in his Foundations of Intercultural Communication, this thesis makes a contrastive analysis of the silent phenomena in nonverbal communication and tries to distill the deep causes of differences between meanings of silence in Chinese and American backgrounds. |
