论英语叠词及其翻译

英语中有大量叠词，其构成方式繁多，独具特点，就其语音，英语叠词大致可分为：（1）完全叠声，即组成的两个部分完全相同，其中元音及辅音均无变化。（2）双声，即两个部分的辅音相同，而中间元音不同。（3）叠韵，即两个部分的元音相同，开首辅音不同，就其语义；英语叠词可分为：（1）叠词词义由两个组成部分原共同表达或引伸而得。（2）其词义由其中一个组成部分的原义单独表达或引伸而得。（3）两个组成部分均无意义，而构成的叠词被赋予特殊意义，（4）两个组成部分均有意义，但部分或全部失去原义，组成的叠词具有新义，英语叠词多半属于非正式体，具有增义强势，摹声助情，增强贬抑等修辞作用。

On English Reduplicatives and Translation

There are a lot of reduplicatives in English language Their formation is various. From phonetics English reduplicatives are generally divided into:(1)Complete reduplicate sound,i e the two parts are the same in morphology,consonants and vowels;(2)Alliteration,i e the same consonants of the two parts , but the different vowels;(3)Assonance,i.e. the same vowels of the two parts , but the different initial consonants. From semantics English reduplicatives may be classified into:(1)The sense of reduplicative is derived from the original meanings of the two parts or expanded meanings;(2)The meaning of the reduplicative comes from the original meaning of one of the two parts or expanded meaning;(3)The two parts have no meanings,the reduplicative has a new meaning;(4)The reduplicative consisting of the two parts with meanings has a new meaning. English reduplicatives have rhetoriol function, forcibleness and impressiveness;enhancing feelings through sound imitation and derogatory meaning.
