试述江阴南菁书院的治学特点

本文分为五部分。在简要介绍江苏学政操持江阴南菁书院“大政”之后,主要阐述该院的办学理念和治学特点,诸如:宽松自由的学风,严格的学术训练,“经世致用”的指导思想,与时俱进、富于创新的精神等等,使“课生”的个性得到充分的张扬。在书院转型时期,它的“维新”倾向于改革措施,尤具特色。它不过存在二十年左右的时间,却培养了许多有用人才,引起胡适的研究兴趣。

On the Features of the Scholarly Research Work in Nanjing Academy of Classical Learning in Jiangying

The author described the concept of running the academy, and the features of the scholarly research work, after the Jiangsu official responsible for education took charge of Nanjing Academy of Classical Learning in Jiangying, such as the free and democratic learning atmosphere, strict academic training, the guidelines of "learning for governing and benefiting the people", the spirit of advancing with time, and innovation, which allowed the full development of the individual characters of learners. During the period of transformation of the Academy, its trend of reform was obvious. Though Nanjing Academy of Classical Learning existed only for about 20 years, it trained many talented people, which even attracted Dr. Hu Shi's interest.
