Abstract:The authors introduce and analyze the theories and practice of teachers' professional development in western countries, including teachers' knowledge base,model of competence,developmental-constructivism,professional development of expertise and practice of teaching training in European and American countries. Finally, some critical problems of teacher training are discussed.
