社会主义政治文明视野中的“五四”新文化运动

江泽民同志提出"发展社会主义民主政治,建设社会主义政治文明"的理论之后,为我国的政治发展指明了方向。发展社会主义民主是建设社会主义政治文明的实质所在。要发展社会主义民主,就要借鉴西方的民主理论,就需要在中国传统文化资源中寻找可供利用的资源。"五四"新文化运动曾作过这方面的探索,然而"五四"新文化运动无论对西方民主理论的认识,还是对中国传统文化的批判上都出现了失误。从建设社会主义政治文明的角度,重新对"五四"时期在民主理念和传统文化上的认识失误进行了解读,目的是为了从中吸取教训,总结经验,以便在社会主义政治文明建设中不再走前人走过的弯路。

On the May Fourth Movement of New Culture from the View of Socialist Political Civilization

Comrade Jiang Zemin put forward the theory of developing socialist democratic politics and constructing socialist political civilization, which pointed out the direction of our country's political development. Developing socialist democracy is the essence of constructing socialist political civilization. It is necessary to refer to the western theory on democracy and look for available resources in Chinese traditional culture in order to develop socialist democracy. People ever attempted to do this job in the May Fourth Movement of New Culture, but they made mistakes in both perceiving the western theory on democracy and criticising Chinese traditional culture. From the point of constructing socialist political civilization, this article re-understands the democracy conception and traditional culture during the May Fourth Movement, hoping that we can take some lessons and experience and avoid the previous mistakes made by our predecessor.
