高等教育收费对教育机会均等的影响

自1997年起,全国所有高校基本实行学生缴费上学.随着高等教育收费,高校贫困生群体的凸现,不菲学费使一些低收入家庭子女可能面临失学,高校收费问题成为社会关注的热点,人们对于教育公平问题展开激烈的争论.本文就高校收费与教育机会均等的关系进行了浅议,认为高等教育收费可以扩大教育资源,增加人们接受高等教育的机会,从整体和长远看来是有利于教育公平的实现.但是亦会给教育公平带来不利的影响.

The Influence of Tuition Charges by Higher Education upon the Equality of Opportunity for Education

Since 1997, by and large, all the college students in China have been paying for the schooling expenses. In consequence of this new higher education tuition system, groups of poverty- stricken students appeared in the colleges, and some of the students in the low- income families were obliged to discontinue schooling. The tuition system turned out to become a hot topic among the society and caused heated argu- ment on the equitable education. This article discussed the influence of tuition charges by higher education upon the equality of opportunity for education. The author is of the opinion that the tuition charges levied by the higher education institutes can enlarge the educational resources hence provide more opportunity for higher education so that, in long- term view, it will advantage the achievement of the equality of opportunity for education. Meanwhile, it also brings about a negative influence upon the same.
