Milwaukee Television History: The Analog Years

This study tested the effects of an fducationaI/lnformationaI (VI) rating on children's responses to an educational program. Older boys liked programs with the E/I rating less, while older girls liked them more than the other children did. Older children attended less to programs with E/I ratings, especially when instruction preceded viewing. Recall did not differ significantly across the conditions for older children; however, a small, negative effect of the E/I rating was suggested.
