| Abstract: | When the first Distinguished Achievement in Access Services Award was presented in November 2014, it was the result of a year's worth of planning between individuals who believed the work within the field of access services should be recognized among its professional community. The following documents the process it took to create the award's criteria, obtain a sponsor, and the selection of the first recipient of the award. |
