Plato's Cave: Light, Idea, and the Others

In his Republic, Plato praises the well-known metaphor of the cave in order to justify that the philosopher should become the kingdom. This metaphor is on the basis of his idealism, and concerns the entire process of the realization of the reality. The optical internalization implied by this metaphor is the first figure of the optical centralism in the west philosophy. It is from this internalization that Plato constructs the metaphor of the presence of the ideal world. On one hand, this presence is the philosophical enlightenment of reason, on the other hand, it is essentially only a discourse of power.
