Overview of Software Reliability

Software Crisis is more and more serious, and the problem of software quality becomes more and more urgent and important in the software industry. Software reliability is the most important and basic factor of quality. So the evaluation of the software reliability also becomes one of the most important standards in the process of the appraising software quality, and the evaluation of software relia- bility includes both the qualitative and quantitative way to evaluate software reliability. This paper mainly introduces the definition of software reliability, the factors affecting the software reliability, the general process of the quantificational evaluation of software relia- bility, and the measurement and discusses the standard of a good software reliability model and other common models.
